Human Resource and Payroll Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Human Resource Manager to join our fun and dynamic team. This manager who would be responsible for: all aspects of the payroll process for a broad client base, management of workflow and reporting, internal company payroll responsibilities, and assistance with general office management, when needed. The successful candidate will grow quickly to oversee the payroll department to ensure timely processing, reporting and compliance with federal and state laws. This position requires a work schedule consistent with normal business hours and some flexibility during the off-season (summer months). Additional work time may be required during tax season and near important deadlines.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage and organize workflow for payroll clients/oversea payroll staff schedules and availability for projects; manage CRM software to review workflow.
Prepare, process, and reconcile payroll transactions for timely and accurate tax remittance
Onboard new payroll clients including registration with the proper tax agencies
Prepare and reconcile quarterly and annual payroll reports
Assist with compliance activity including workers' compensation audits and other external data and reporting requests
Proactively manage clients for changing rates and law requirements
Review and improve internal processes
Assist bookkeepers in making monthly adjusting entries related to payroll
Assist with general office duties, tax return assembly, project workflow, and overall organization when needed.
Assistance with hiring/termination/review/training process for company employees, manage annual benefits review and record keeping, and perform internal payroll.
Key Qualifications:
Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws
Detail-oriented and goal-driven
Ability to multi-task and uphold confidentiality requirements
Team player with strong time management and communication skills
Extensive experience using QuickBooks to process payroll
Experience with ADP, Gusto, or another payroll software is a plus
Background in CRM system management, excel or organizational management is a plus
Requirements:
4+ years’ experience with payroll processing and compliance work
Bachelor’s degree or formal education preferred
